Job Description:

Job responsibilities: (Includes but not limited to the following): • The primary responsibilities of the planning and control system engineer will be to perform cutting-edge research and development of advanced motion planning and control architecture, estimation and control analysis, and control algorithms for autonomous vehicles • This role will involve model-based design for guidance, navigation, and control of Changan Automobiles • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to independently perform planning and control architecture evaluation and selection, dynamic modeling, estimation and control system analysis and design, and simulation. • Candidate must have the ability to implement motion planning and control algorithms in real-time hardware for verification • Expertise in MATLAB/Simulink is essential. We are also developing in C++ on Linux based systems, so proficiency in C++ is desirable • Assist in developing and implementing detailed test and verification plans from the subsystem to vehicle level • Expertise in high definition maps and navigation systems would be necessary • Documentation of work results Job Specifications: Required • Master’s degree in Engineering with specialty in control systems or robotics. • 4+ years’ experience in autonomous vehicle and ADAS control • Experienced in functions and algorithm development for the automotive industry • Experience in high definition maps and navigation systems • Experience in motion planning algorithms • Experience in control system rapid prototyping development using MATLAB/Simulink and dSPACE MicroAutobox • System knowledge of the various electric- and electronic vehicle architectures • Knowledge in CAN, LIN and FlexRay • Knowledge of radar and camera technologies • Strong oral, written and listening communication skills • Good command in English language • Ability to both work independently and in a team Preferred • Competency in vehicle dynamics and knowledge in chassis controls • Advanced graduate level control theories and practice experience • Experienced in C++, Python on Linux/Windows-Systems CHANGAN US R&D Center, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer committed to a culturally diverse workforce.
