Changan leads Chinese automotive brands, sets sales target of 800,000 units

Changan’s January 2015 total sales exceeded 300,000, an increase of 24% over January 2014. Changan passenger cars led Chinese automotive brands with sales of 127,400, a 62% gain. These meteoric sales increases are indicative of Changan’s recent rapid growth, as well as the company’s favorable future potential.

 

With sales of more than 20,000 each, the star models are unstoppable

Changan’s star models, such as CS35, have made a tremendous contribution to Changan’s January sales. Several models logged sales in excess of 20,000 units: CS35 posted 22,200 sales, a 110% increase over January 2014; Eado moved 23,000 units, an increase of 67%; and CS75, which just launched last April, had sales of 15,700, continuing its momentum.

As Changan’s first urban small SUV, CS35 has quickly gained traction, posting 22, 200 January sales. With its stylish exterior, technology-driven interior, plentiful and practical configuration, as well as its leading power efficiency, CS35 has earned market recognition. A price range of 78,900 - 96,900 RMB is also a valuable competitive advantage.

Three years in the making in various Changan Automobile global R & D centers, Eado is the perfect blend of elegance and craftsmanship. Since its launch in 2012, Eado has established a reputation of quality and reliability. Eado has also secured its position as one of Changan’s best-selling models.

In September 2013, Changan's first mid-sized SUV - the CS75 - debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show, attracting a lot of international media attention. At the 2014 Beijing Auto Show, this much-anticipated mid-sized SUV officially launched, giving a shot in the arm to the Chinese SUV market. Stylish, practical, powerful, and fun to drive (has excellent drivability), Changan’s CS75 not only shows its superiority, but also reflects the new heights of Changan’s research and design capabilities. On December 26, 2014, CS75 scored a 59 C-NCAP rating, breaking a record and becoming the safest Chinese-branded vehicle.

Targeting 800,000 sales and becoming a domestic leader

With nine R&D centers in five countries, Changan is reaching new heights. In 2014, the automaker sold more than 770,000 vehicles, exceeding the annual sales target of 600,000. For 2015, the company has set an ambitious sales target of 800,000.

To contribute to the achievement of this goal, Changan will launch a new mid-sized SUV - the CS95. It is reported that CS95 has a length, breadth and height of 5380/ 2120 / 1770mm, and a wheelbase of 3330mm. The new car will have a stylish exterior appearance, a simple and elegant interior with a rich technology configuration. It’s equipped with a Blue Core Series 2.0T turbocharged engine. In addition to the launch of CS95, Changan also plans to introduce a new version of CS35, an all-wheel drive CS75, and a new Eado.

The Chongqing-based automaker plans to invest 30 billion RMB in R&D and product improvement over the next five years. In accordance with its slogan, “Moving forward with you,” Changan will be capable of moving forward with even more people around the globe in the very near future.
