Grand Rally Racing welcomed its fourth competition with a formal opening ceremony in Encarnacion, Paraguay, on June 26, 2015. When automotive brand-sponsored race cars arrived, Changan Eado XT - the only Chinese auto brand entry - won cheers from the audience.
Since winning the first competition of the series, Changan Automobile has gained increasing local recognition. Changan's Paraguayan racing premiere took place last October when the Eado XT captured 2nd place in class group 9 of the 300 KM Sprint in the Rally de Chaco. Eado XT stepped up to the challenge of Paraguay Rally Racing once again this year, igniting passion in the audience and becoming a focal point of the event.
Because Changan Automobile has a good deal of upside sales potential in South America, the company is leveraging brand promotion resources locally. Since entering the market, Changan has sold 2,840 vehicles in South America as of May 2015, with a 20% annual growth rate. South America has become a predominant overseas market for Changan. The company has hosted promotional events such as Discovering South America, Peru Rally Racing, and Paraguay Rally Racing because Columbia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, and Paraguay are key South American markets. This is particularly so after Changan's participation in the internationally influential Columbia and Peru auto shows. Changan's youthful and lively image has elevated the the brand among local customers and dealers.
To expand influence in South America, Changan is hosting a series of promotional events called Discovering Legends, which conveys a perceptions of long history, excellent quality, and global significance.
