The Chinese Production Car Performance Competition (CPC) opened on August 23, 2015 in Zhuhai, China. The event included the T Group Challenge, which took place over a fierce two day competition. Four Changan models competed and won in a number of key categories with their engine performance, precise handling, and excellent stability.
The Alsvin V7 won its class (which includes joint venture cars) in the "Moose-Avoidance Test." The Alsvin V7 was a runner-up among all vehicle lines, ranking second only to the Audi A4L, by one tenth of a point. The CS35 won its class in the 100km/h-0 linear braking test. The CS75 and the New Benni both won all six testing programs, taking the title of "Kings of Zhuhai."
There were sixty-two vehicle models and seventeen brands taking part in the CPC this year. The event includes fourteen tests covering six areas: engine, brake, and handling stability performance, fuel consumption, comfort, and maneuverability. The CPC serves as a competitive testing venue for production vehicles from both Chinese and joint venture (JV) brands. All vehicles are tested objectively, and the best are recognized.
The drivers and cars created a kind of fun, competitive spirit. Changan's outstanding performance was in full effect as demonstrated by skillful Changan drivers like Yangjun (who is also known as the "King of Cars"). According to Yangjun, his success at CPC resulted from Changan's precise handling which allows for quick passing maneuvers.
"It is a great honor to compete with other counterparts on the battlefield. Compared to other race drivers, our advantage lies in a deep understanding of our products. Although our results here were not as strong as our own practice results, we are quite satisfied with our products' performance," said Xianghui, another Changan legend who is also a 2nd-level design engineer with over 20 years' experience in chassis development.
The CS75, CS35, Alsvin V7, and New Benni all excelled. This achievement not only exemplifies the value of advanced driver ergonomics inside the vehicle, but it also demonstrates Changan's performance capabilities. With these core strengths, Changan conquered the CPC challenges, beating both domestic and JV brands. Changan strives to bring a winning reputation to China and Chinese vehicles competing in the global automotive industry.
