The second leg of the Chinese Circuit Off-road Championships (COC) came to a close in Wuqing, Tianjin on June 28th. The Changan CS75 team again participated in the COC, capturing championships in both individual and team competitions in the gasoline category.
In addition, driver Gu Zhijian won the title of "Speed King" in the second half of the preliminary round with the shortest time. The CS75 team performed extremely well at the Tianjin race. These victories were followed by two wins at the Nanxi contest - both individual and team groupings -in the gasoline categories.
COC, which has been held 13 times, requires a lot from participating cars. The course is filled with humps, double-sided bridges, wavy roads, V ditches, shell holes, 25 degree slopes, deep water, and all kinds of obstacles. This time, the track in Wuqing, Tianjin was more challenging than Nanxi's track. The Wuqing circuit had narrower lanes, deeper pits, and longer muddy roads, which raised the bar for participating cars. For drivers and teams, the course posed a serious challenge. The obstacles on the Wuqing circuit made capturing gold so much harder.
The CS75 team's victory at Tianjin has greatly boosted their confidence. The Beijing Huairou race - the most important competition of the COC series - got underway on July 2nd. Stay tuned to learn about the CS75 team's performance in Beijing!
