Changan and Egypt drive forward together

The first Egyptian-built Changan CS35 rolled off the MMI factory assembly line in Cairo.

This is the fruit of Changan's collaboration with SIG Group in Egypt.  Over 40% of required parts are produced on-site.  The Egyptian version of the CS35 is equipped with enhanced air-conditioning to combat extremely hot local temperatures.

Changan will complete construction of the 18,000 square meter MMI facility by year-end 2018.  It will have a build capacity of 8,000 to 10,000 vehicles per year.  CS95 and V7 are among the models expected to be produced at this plant.

Han Bing, Chinese embassy counselor, was full of praise for Changan's achievements in Egypt and he hopes for continued success in the future.  Wang Huanran, general manager of Changan's overseas department, spoke about the Cairo factory's benefits for Changan, Egyptian consumers, and the Egyptian government.  He also mentioned that Changan will continue to export cars to Egypt in addition to manufacturing them locally.

Building the CS35 in Egypt is just the start of the collaboration between Changan and SIG Group.  They will work closely together to build more Changan models in the country going forward.  This will be a win-win situation for all concerned, especially for Egyptian consumers.
