Changan Automobile held a national media test drive in Shenzhen on March 6th.  The second generation Eado and Eado DT models made their first public test drive and were evaluated by hundreds of auto industry professionals.

The second generation Eado and Eado DT were developed with Changan's new design language in mind.  The new Eado turns heads with its distinctive, fresh look.  Eado DT - a new addition to the Eado family - is characterized by style, technology, and high performance.  These attributes address diverse consumer needs.  The new Eado family design cues raise the bar on compact car styling.

At 185.4 inches long and 71.7 inches wide, Eado is just the right size.  And its exterior styling characteristics - such as the elegant grille and double waistline design - align with those of other vehicles in the Changan portfolio.  The luxurious interior elevates the driving experience with its refined, leather-like materials. 

Eado's performance, handling, and cozy atmosphere captured the most attention at the test drive event.  It's powered by Changan's 1.6L Blue Core GDI engine mated to an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission.  Chassis optimization was carried out by Detroit-based engineers.  Eado features an independent Macpherson front suspension and a closed U-O Forming rear suspension which has been employed in Ford Focus.  Responsive, easy to control electric power steering is standard.

Eado is also equipped with multiple intelligent features which afforded test drivers a more enjoyable driving experience.  The touch-controlled display not only shows the safety belt warning and air purification, but also controls volume.  In addition, the newly upgraded embedded 10.25-inch high-definition liquid crystal display screen integrates Changan's In Call 3.0 smart vehicle interconnection system which supports full-time navigation.

Eado is equipped with a number of safety and security features including an energy absorbing exterior, adaptive cruise control, electronic stability control, electronic parking brake, passenger air bags, and an early warning auxiliary braking system.

Eado DT was also well-received at the test drive event. Its good looks, great performance, and smooth operation stoked conversations in the media.

The snazzy DT model is 180.1 inches in length and 71.7 inches in width.  It's a little smaller than Eado.  Yet even though smaller, DT also sports a striking front fascia highlighted by its edgy new grille, and underscored by a sleek external appearance.  Leather and two tone stitching figure prominently in the DT model's handsome interior.

Eado DT is available with either a 1.6L or 1.0L turbocharged engine and either a 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, or 6-speed manual transmission.  An optimized chassis, electronic power steering, electronic stability control, and other features make driving easier.

Compared to competitors, Eado DT is especially attractive for its high tech and intelligent features.  LED headlamps and a 10.25-inch screen are available for the first time in this segment.  An intelligent driving computer, intelligent lamp control, In Call 3.0 and other smart equipment are also provided to make travel more convenient.  Throughout the test drive, journalists experienced the comfortable control of Eado DT.

Both Eado and Eado DT gave event participants an unparalleled experience.  The two models will be available by the end of March.
