Changan Automobile held Eado Night, a listing conference, to launch the second generation Eado and Eado DT on March 27th. Over the past two years, popularity of Chinese brand vehicles has increased in the domestic market. The addition of two new models to the Eado Family will increase Changan's coverage of the compact vehicle market.
At the conference, nine Eado models were released to provide choice and value as well as to address family transportation needs.
The second generation Eado is positioned as an intermediate car of superior quality. Eado's characteristics such as intelligence and efficiency are very appealing to consumers.
At 4,710 millimeters long by 1,820 millimeters wide by 1,505 millimeters high, and riding atop a 2,700 millimeter extra-long wheelbase, its fashionable appearance attracts attention. Employing Changan's new design language, Eado models boast a striking air-inlet grille and dynamic dual waistline design. The interior is outfitted with a user-centered cockpit. With up to 55% leather-like materials, a metal-textured panel with an embedded INS module, and a technical instrument panel, Eado offers more than other vehicles of the same class.
Front passenger comfort is thoughtfully tended. Eado is equipped with a passenger-side touch screen - comparable to those found in luxury sports cars - which is controllable via touch and voice. The screen alerts the passenger to buckle up. It also displays the status of air purification. A 10.25-inch HD LCD screen is integrated with the Changan In Call 3.0 intelligent on-board interactive system which supports full-time 4G online. To alleviate the problem of insufficient mobile traffic news, Eado models equipped with 4G also carry two value-added services - lifetime free real-time traffic information and free online music and radio for two years.
A Blue Core 1.6L GDI direct injection, all aluminum alloy engine mated with a 6-speed automatic or a 5-speed manual transmission powers Eado. Research and development personnel from China and the US collaborated on chassis innovations such as a hydraulic ring-beam front MacPherson independent suspension and a U-O Forming closed torsion-beam rear suspension. Chassis adjustment by experts at Changan's US R&D Center near Detroit enables Eado to be operated with ease.
The compact sedan is also outfitted with a high efficiency energy-absorbing body (HEEAB) and equipped with adaptive cruise control, assisted braking, and standard electronic stability control across the vehicle line for considerable safety protection.
The inaugural Eado DT is stylish and economical - two requirements of family sedan drivers. It sports Changan's bold, signature air-inlet grille, refined profile, sleek exterior, and other aesthetic elements. In addition, the interior is composed of up to 45% leather material and duotone stitching.
At 4,575 millimeters long by 1,750 millimeters wide by 1,525 millimeters or 1,500 millimeters high supported by a 2,610 millimeter wheelbase, Eado DT is slightly smaller than Eado. Outfitted with 6 airbags, a HEEAB, and other outstanding security features, it's better equipped than competitors of the same class. Eado DT features LED headlamps, a 10.25 inch suspended LED screen, an intelligent driving computer, intelligent light control, and In Call 3.0 for comfortable travel.
A 1.6L turbocharged engine that's available with either a 5-speed manual, 4-speed automatic, or 6-speed manual transmission propels Eado DT. Advanced chassis calibration, electric power steering, and electronic stability control improve the driving experience.
Changan's global R&D team members collaboratively developed both Eado and Eado DT. These two very appealing vehicles are attractively priced and loaded with the features buyers want. Together, the new models are expected to elevate the Chinese sedan market in spite of fierce competition. They are also expected to produce very satisfied customers.
