In the first quarter of 2018, a total of 3,725 vehicles were shipped to South America, with 3,620 of them going to retail.  The total shipment increased 45% year over year, with retail up 105% - a historic high.  Among all Chinese brands, Changan's export ranked first in Chile.  It is, indeed, a very successful beginning for Changan in the Americas.

Chile: Oushang A500 goes to market

Changan launched Oushang A500 in the Movicenter showroom in San Diego, Chile on March 20th.  The dealer invited more than 20 automotive journalists to take it for a test drive.  City, highway, and mountain roads were encountered along the way.  Under full load, A500's stable performance and power won the praise of media participants.

Vehicles were displayed in San Diego and its surrounding cities from March 26th to April 4th to show consumers that A500 is the premium choice among vehicles in its segment.

This new addition expands Changan's product line in Chile.  A500's rich content and competitive pricing will surely attract customers.

Peru: Sales volume reaches a new high, Changan ranks ninth

Peru's unstable political situation and unfavorable economic environment caused many brands to suffer.  However, Changan still sold 393 units in February setting anew record.  In the first quarter, retail sales rose 52% compared to a year ago.

According to local industry statistics, Changan ranked ninth among global brands for the first time, and continued to be first among Chinese brands.

Ecuador:  Changan Experience Centers open for business

In March 2018, two new Changan Experience Centers opened in Ecuador.  One is the headquarters store in the capital Quito and another is the flagship store in Ambaro.  The upscale facilities provide superior service and comfort compared to other Chinese brand showrooms.  Open for only one week, the headquarters store secured five orders, while the flagship store secured seven.  Changan also cooperated with the Rent - a local rental car company - allowing them to conduct business in the showroom to meet the diverse needs of customers.

Consumers are interested in this highest-ranking Chinese brand.  Changan has more vehicles coming to address more customer needs.
