CS75 among four new Changan vehicles shown at Beijing International Automotive Exhibition

The 2018 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition opened at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing on April 25th.

Equipped with the APA 4.0 valet parking system, the new CS75 smart SUV has become the highlight of the show.  In addition, the second-generation Eado XT, Eado EV460, and CS75 PHEV were launched at the Exhibition.

CS75 is the first of its kind in China to have all its models mass-produced with a demonstrated effect of leading the industry.

CS75 is capable of Level 2 automatic driving, which includes actively searching for parking spaces, push-button parking from inside the vehicle, and remote parking form the outside.  It is able to execute parallel, perpendicular, and angled parking maneuvers.

Other equipment includes an interactive screen, voice recognition, internet access, full-speed adaptive cruise control, Bosch new generation emergency braking, lane change decision aid, lane departure warning, and many other intelligent driving assistance features.

Eado XT, the "Chinese most beautiful hatchback vehicle," is a personalized product of the Eado family which enriches the Changan sedan lineup.  The second-generation Eado XT incorporates the new design aesthetics.  Its appeal lies not only in its stylish appearance, but also in the vision that has created a smarter and more comfortable mobile space.

Two new energy vehicles are also attracting the public's attention.

The Eado EV460 is Changan's first pure electric car to have a 400 km range.  With constant-speed cruise mileage of 460 kilometers and power consumption per hundred kilometers of only 14.2 degrees, at a cost of about 35 yuan per 500 kilometers.

The CS75 PHEV is Changan's first plug-in hybrid SUV.  It has an independently developed split-shaft plug-in four drive force system.  In pure electric mode, battery life is 60 kilometers.  With regard to hybrid electric power, fuel consumption per 100 kilometers is only 1.6 liters.  With constant speed, total mileage can reach nearly 900 kilometers.

Intelligent, network-linked technology is an important breakthrough for the the transformation and advancement of the Chinese automobile industry.  It will be of great strategic importance to promote national economic and social development.  Changan is actively implementing its national development strategy.

While leading mass production of autonomous driving technology, Changan has also taken the lead in frontier technology:

In April 2016, Raeton completed a 2,000 kilometer unmanned test from Chongqing to Beijing, creating a precedent for long distance unmanned driving tests in China.

In July 2017, CS55 was configured with APA 6.0 Level 4 automatic driving technology.  This is a long range automatic parking system that searches for parking spaces via remote and parks automatically.  Its first test was completed in China.

In December 2017, the Level 4 networked urban, unmanned system that integrates V2X, remote automatic parking, and automatic driving completed the first test in China.

Changan has obtained two driverless test licenses - one in California, the other in Chongqing, China.  The company will accelerate the pace of intelligent development through its research activities in these locales.

While leading mass production and technology, Changan has shown greater ambition in the field of intelligence.  The company has already cooperated with more than 10 global companies, colleges, and universities, including Baidu, Alibaba, Tencent, HKUST, Intel, NXP, Tsinghua University, and MIT.  They are collaborating in three areas: smart driving, intelligent interaction, and smart interconnection.

On April 23rd, the Changan Automobile Strategy Conference revealed that the company is preparing to release its intelligent strategy - the "Beitou Tianshu" Plan - in the second half of the year.  Changan's investment in the intelligent field will reach 1.6 billion yuan in 2018.  A total of 20 billion yuan will be invested in the next 10 years to form an intelligent research and development team of more than 2,000 people.

On October 19, 2017, Changan proposed its new energy strategy called the Shangri-La Plan.  The company announced that it would discontinue selling internal combustion engine vehicles in 2025 to achieve a product portfolio consisting of only electrified vehicles.  Four-strategy Actions is a multi-billion yuan operation which includes ten thousand research and development professionals, partnership programs, and the ultimate experience.

Last December, Changan established the New Energy Vehicle Business Department.  It will soon establish a new energy frontier technology and intelligent research and development center in Detroit, Michigan.  It will focus on the integration of new energy and intelligent technologies.  The company began developing a dedicated platform for large, medium, and small new energy vehicles.  Changan plans to construct a complete vehicle control system platform, three battery platforms, and three electric drive platforms by 2020.  Combined with new releases such as Eado Mobile EV460 and CS75 PHEV, Changan's Shangri-La Plan is getting closer to fruition.

On April 23rd, Changan initiated the Third Innovation and Entrepreneurship Plan as a strategic move to depict a new blueprint for the company.
