After several months of intense preparation, Changan Russia's first company-owned dealership opened with a ceremony in Moscow on May 25th. Changan Vice President Gong Bing, NORINCO Moscow branch representative Mr. Wei, General Chamber of Commerce of Russia and China representative Zhou Weihua, and Changan Overseas Department Deputy GM Li Mingcai attended the ceremony along with distinguished guests.
At the opening ceremony, Tan Peng, Mr. Gong, and Mr. Zhou addressed the audience.
Mr. Gong welcomed and thanked attendees from China and Russia. He pointed out Russia's vital, strategic position for Changan in influencing the Russian Commonwealth and Eastern Europe. He said that he hopes this showroom will set up a benchmark in the Russian market for future planning. He also expressed hope that the store will become a bulwark for accomplishing the company's overseas development strategy. More importantly, he announced that Changan will increase its support of Changan Russia to 40 million dollars this year.
Mr. Tan affirmed Changan's commitment to long-term expansion in Russia. To date, the company has developed 36 sales networks which cover the major cities in Russia. The cumulative output value is around 2.5 billion rubles since Changan's entry into the Russian market in 2013. In 2017, sales totaled 1,411 vehicles with a Y-O-Y increase of 161%. This new showroom will realize business management innovations through exploration of advanced sales tools. The facility is intended to be a center for auto sales, brand image and promotions, training, and business.
After the speeches, violin and dance performances entertained guests. Changan overseas and domestic distributors congratulated the company on the new showroom. The event was live streamed through Changan's official social media channels.
Changan officials and guests later cut the ribbon. That same day, several customers came in to check out CS35 and decided to buy one. It appears that the market has been waiting for Changan to arrive.
